SharePuzz Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-09-26

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Tetsu Sugaya (trading as admat) ("we", "us", or "our") about your use of the SharePuzz photo jigsaw game and its related server features (the "App"). By downloading, opening, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Introduction and scope

  1. SharePuzz is a photo jigsaw game. You can play by yourself, or together with one other person over the internet.
  2. Any additional rules, guidelines, or notices we post inside the App or on our website form part of these Terms. If there is a conflict between those and these Terms, the specific rule or notice takes precedence for the matter it covers.
  3. We may post the App and these Terms in more than one language. If there is any conflict between language versions, the version that governs your purchase or region will apply where the law requires; otherwise the English version applies to English-language users.

2. How the App works

The App offers the following modes:

To play Co-op, Versus, or the tic-tac-toe minigame, one person creates a room (the "host") and the other joins using a room code (the "guest"). A single room holds at most two people (host plus one guest); the server rejects any further attempts to join.

3. Eligibility

  1. You may use the App only if you can form a binding agreement under the law that applies to you.
  2. If you are a minor under the law of your country, you may use the App only with the consent and, where appropriate, the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
  3. The App does not require you to create an account or to give us your name, email address, phone number, or other personal details. Simply installing the App is enough to use it.

4. No account; your device

  1. The App does not use an account system. The first time you open it, the App generates a random identifier (a UUID) on your device for internal use only. This identifier is erased when you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.
  2. You are responsible for your own device and for preventing unauthorized use of it. Any activity carried out through your device is treated as your own, and you are responsible for it.

5. Free and paid features

  1. Single mode (A) is available for free.
  2. Co-op mode (B), Versus mode (C), and the tic-tac-toe minigame require an active paid subscription.
  3. If either of the two players is subscribed, both can play. Specifically, to create a Co-op, Versus, or tic-tac-toe room, the host must have an active subscription. The guest who joins that room can play for free, without a subscription.
  4. The App does not display advertising in any plan, and we do not share your information with advertising networks.

6. Subscriptions and payment

  1. The paid plan is an auto-renewing subscription offered monthly or yearly. The current price, billing terms, renewal date, any free trial, and any discounts or promotions are shown in the App and in the App Store or Google Play, and those store listings prevail.
  2. You purchase, manage, and cancel subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play, following each store's process. Billing, refunds, and similar matters are handled by the store under its own terms and refund policy. We do not process payments and do not control whether a store grants a refund. We never see or store your card or bank details.
  3. A subscription is tied to the store where you bought it. Apple App Store and Google Play subscriptions are separate and cannot be transferred to another operating system or store.
  4. Switching platforms (for example, moving between iPhone and Android) does not carry your subscription over — including any remaining time on a yearly plan. To keep using paid features on the new platform, you must subscribe again there, and you should cancel the old subscription yourself through the store where you bought it. Moving to a new device on the same operating system is fine: use "Restore Purchases" in the App.
  5. If you cancel, you keep paid features until the end of the current billing period. The App checks your subscription status through the Apple App Store or Google Play and automatically moves you to the free plan when the billing period ends — no action is needed on your part.
  6. Once you are on the free plan (through cancellation, expiry, or a failed payment), you can no longer create Co-op, Versus, or tic-tac-toe rooms as a host. Because we do not store room data permanently, changing plans does not delete any additional data of yours.

7. Your content and sharing

  1. You keep all rights in the images and other content you upload as a host. These Terms do not transfer ownership to us.
  2. You grant us permission to copy, transmit, temporarily hold, and otherwise process your content only as needed to operate, deliver, and troubleshoot the App and to investigate abuse. We do this without charge and only for those purposes.
  3. You represent that you have the rights needed to upload your content and that it does not infringe anyone else's copyright, likeness, privacy, or other rights. SharePuzz is meant for a private photo shared between two people; if other people appear in a photo, upload it only with their consent.
  4. If a dispute, claim, or complaint arises from content you uploaded, you are responsible for resolving it at your own cost.

8. Rooms, sharing, and how your data is handled

  1. You may share a room code through the App's share feature, a QR code, spoken word, or any other method you choose. Choosing who to share it with is your responsibility.
  2. Anyone who obtains a room code or QR code may be able to view the image, piece layout, and moves in that room. Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, we are not responsible if you share a code and an unintended person views the room.
  3. Room information (images, move history, and room state) is held in the server's memory only. It is discarded automatically once everyone has left the room for a set time (24 hours by default), or once a set time has passed since the room was created (48 hours by default). It is also lost entirely if the server restarts or fails. Nothing is written to permanent storage. By using the App you accept how this works.

9. Acceptable use

When using the App, you must not:

10. Service changes, suspension, and termination

  1. We may suspend or interrupt all or part of the App without prior notice if, for example: we need to perform maintenance or updates; force majeure such as an earthquake, lightning, fire, power outage, or natural disaster makes provision difficult; computers, communication lines, a store, or an external service stops due to an incident; there is unauthorized access, a security problem, or a need to protect data; or we otherwise decide that providing the App has become difficult.
  2. We may change the contents of the App without prior notice.
  3. We may discontinue the App entirely. If we do, we will try to give notice at least three months before the planned end date, through the store listing pages or other means.
  4. Billing, cancellation, and refunds for the paid plan follow each store's terms and refund policy. We do not directly manage store refund decisions or process refunds.
  5. Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, we are not responsible for any loss or damage you or a third party suffer from the suspension, change, interruption, or termination of the App.

11. Usage restrictions

  1. Without prior notice, we may delete content, restrict your use of the App, or take other necessary measures if we determine that you have breached these Terms, failed to respond to our contact within a reasonable period, placed an excessive load on our systems or external services, engaged in unauthorized access, impersonation, spam, or nuisance activity, or otherwise acted in a way we judge unsuitable.
  2. We are not obliged to explain our reasons for taking such measures.
  3. Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, we are not responsible for any loss you suffer as a result of these measures.
  4. These measures may apply even if you have a paid subscription. In that case, billing, cancellation, and refunds follow each store's terms and refund policy.

12. Deleting your data (uninstalling)

  1. Because the App has no account and we do not hold information that identifies you personally, uninstalling the App serves as the equivalent of deleting your account.
  2. Uninstalling erases the device identifier (UUID) and other local data from your device. If you install again later, a new, unrelated identifier is issued, and even we cannot link it to the previous one.
  3. Any room data or images in server memory are discarded automatically after the retention period in Section 8, whether or not you take any action. If you want immediate deletion before uninstalling, contact us at the address in Section 17.
  4. Uninstalling the App does not automatically cancel your subscription on the App Store or Google Play. Please cancel it yourself through the store. You can also open the store's management screen from "Manage / cancel subscription" in the App.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

  1. The App is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not warrant that it is free of defects in fact or in law — including as to safety, reliability, accuracy, completeness, suitability for a particular purpose, security, or freedom from errors, bugs, or rights infringement — to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
  2. Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, we are not liable for any damage you suffer arising from the App. Even where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the total fees you paid us in the four months before the event giving rise to the claim.
  3. We are not responsible for any transaction, communication, sharing, editing, viewing, or dispute that arises between you and another user or third party in connection with the App.
  4. The App's server features hold room data in memory and discard it after everyone leaves for a set time, after a set time from room creation, and on server restart or failure. We are not responsible for the loss of information for these reasons.
  5. Co-op, Versus, and the tic-tac-toe minigame require an internet connection and may be unavailable, in whole or in part, when your connection is unavailable or unstable. We are not responsible for damage arising from the connection environment, your device, the operating system, a store, a payment service, or any other external service being interrupted, failing, changing, or ending.
  6. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you.

14. Changes to these Terms

  1. We may change these Terms where the change is in the general interest of users, or where it is reasonable in light of the circumstances. We will make the updated Terms and their effective date known by posting them in the App or on our website, and where a change may disadvantage you we will endeavor to give reasonable advance notice.
  2. If you do not agree to a change, you may stop using the App before the effective date and, if you have a paid subscription, cancel it through your store. If you continue to use the App on or after the effective date, you are deemed to have agreed to the updated Terms.

15. Notices and assignment

  1. Notices between you and us may be given through features in the App, by posting on our website, or by email to bsx-adm@admat.at. A notice we give by a normally reliable method is treated as delivered even if you do not read it.
  2. You may not assign or pledge your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. If we transfer the business behind the App or change its operator, we may transfer our position, rights, obligations, and information necessary to run the App to the successor, giving notice where required.
  3. Your use of the App is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle information about you.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, where we are located.
  2. Any dispute relating to the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the district or summary court having jurisdiction over our location as the court of first instance, to the extent permitted by applicable law. This does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence.
